The Toy Safety Flammability Tester is suitable for testing the flammability of children's toys or toy materials. The following types of toys can be tested.


1) Beards, tentacles, wigs, etc. made of hair, fleece or similar materials, moulded and fabric masks, headscarves, headgear, fluttering objects on head toys, but excluding paper and cardboard hats without decoration or attachment;

2) Costumes in disguise (toy disguise costumes and toys intended for children at play);

3) toys intended for entry by children (toy tents, puppet theatres, shacks conical tents and tunnels);

4) soft stuffed toys, excluding soft stuffed toys that cannot be embraced by children during play.

Toy Safety Flammability Tester

The flammability of a toy or material is tested under specific test conditions and the results cannot be used to determine that the toy or material is completely free from potential fire hazards when in close proximity to other sources of ignition.


Standard:


The Toy Safety Flammability Tester is manufactured to the requirements of EN 71-2-2020, ISO 8124.2, ISO 6941 and other standards.


Definitions:


1. The QINSUN Toy Safety Flammability Tester uses the following definitions.


1) Flammability: The ability of a material or a product to ignite under the specified test conditions;

2) Flammable fragment: A material that continues to burn when detached from the specimen and dropped during the test;

3) Unignited or self-extinguishing within 50 mm: represents a specimen that catches fire but extinguishes before the first marker line is broken;

4) Self-extinguishing: represents a specimen that is on fire but extinguished before the second marker is broken;

5) Hair: used to represent thin, flexible fibres in the form of hairs;

6) Moulded hood: A mask moulded to the contours of the head or face;

7) Software stuffed toys: toys with or without costumes, where the main surface of the body is soft and filled with a soft material so that the main part of the toy can be compressed by hand at will;

8) Toy Disguise Costumes: Costumes designed to be worn by children to facilitate imaginative play in which children pretend to be a character;

9) Toys for children to enter: toys made of fabric and/or polymer sheets and films designed to completely or almost completely or almost completely enclose all sides of a child;

10) Surface flicker: the flame spreads rapidly over the surface of the material, with and without igniting its base structure;

11) Washing: designed for the process of cleaning textiles in a water bath;

12) Within 50 mm: self-extinguishing within 50 mm of flame application;

13) White cotton threads: assorted 50-count white cotton threads (user supplied) with a mercerised finish.


Toy Safety Flammability Tester Instructions for use


1. Bunsen burner: Flame generator which can be rotated (vertically, 45 degrees) to adjust the flame colour and move backwards and forwards. 2;

2. Angle plate: for easy observation and adjustment of the torch angle for fixture position;

3. a specimen holder: used to hang the marker line and put the specimen for the test fixture;

4. Specimen holder: for combining specimen holders for different tests, adjustable up and down via touch screen;

5. U-shaped specimen holder: for the testing of specimens from head-mounted toys, hoods, headgear, etc., textile masks that cover the whole or part of the face, toy costumes and toys intended for entry by children;

6. Vertical metal frame: for moving the specimen up and down the frame with left and right movement;

7. U-shaped specimen holder with grid: for narrow material specimens;

8. weights and proximity switches: the end of the marker wire is tied to the weights to automatically sense and time when the marker wire is broken;

9. touch screen: to control and operate the test and to display the test time etc;

10. power switch: to control the power supply of the equipment on and off

11. pressure gauge: no pressure display during the test is normal;

12. flow rate adjustment valve: to adjust the gas flow rate and thus the flame size of the Bunsen burner.
