This test method is intended for use in determining the resistance of materials to flame when tested according to the 60-second and 12-second Vertical Bunsen Burner Tests specified in 14CFR Part 25.853 and 25.855.
Electrical Wire Testing:
This test method is intended for use in determining the resistance of electric wire insulation to flame when tested according to the 30-second, 60-degree Bunsen burner test specified in 14CFR Part 25.869.
Oil Burner Firewall Testing:
This test method is intended to determine the capability of components and constructions to control the passage of fire or its effects in powerplant (engine) compartments and, thereby, to prevent additional hazard to the aircraft. This test is used to show compliance with 14 CFR Part 25.865, 25.867, and 25.1191.
Oil Burner Seat Cushion Testing:
This test method evaluates the burn resistance and weight loss characteristics of aircraft seat cushions when exposed to a high-intensity open flame to show compliance to the requirements of 14CFR Part 25.853.
