IMOFTPCPart3: A, B, F flame resistance class test is mainly used to test the flame retardancy of ship materials. Ships sailing in international waters must comply with SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations. Ships include ships, naval vessels, etc. Since it is not easy for ships to escape when a fire occurs, the fireproof performance of their materials is of particular concern.
EU (European Union) and USCG (United States Coast Guard) require all materials used on ships to undergo fire test certification, and only the certificate issued by the notified certification body is recognized. The test is carried out according to the standard IMOMSC61 (67) (IMO).
IMOMSC61(67) standard:
IMOMSC61(67): The adoption of international regulations on fire test procedures
IMOFTPCPart3: A, B, F flame resistance class test:
European WheelMark certification and American USCG certification:
Ship materials/equipment used on European-registered ships need to be tested according to the requirements of the Ship Equipment Directive MED96/98/EC and carry out Wheelmark certification. Ships registered in the United States require USCG certification by the US Maritime Guard.
